Delphi fuel filter

Post by tankekwee1972 »

I am thinking of fixing up a Delphi Fuel filter on the GU and was wondering what are the general sentiments for such modification. Do you replace the fuel filtration system currently in the vehicle with this or does the Delphi fuel filtration system become the primary fuel filtration and the original system as secondary?

I'm not sure on the filters in a patrol, but I replaced the factory toyota one on my hilux with a delphi filter. The primer pump was heaps better and the cartridges are about $4.50 to replace.

I have a similar system, but run 2 Cav/Delphi filters between the tank and the original filter. The Delphi will collect the worst of the crap, and replacement is only a few dollars, which extends greatly the original filter life, which are about $50-60 to replace on the Rocky. The 2nd extra filter paid for itself on a recent trip when a rock fractured the glass bowl on one filter, and I had to bypass it.
