I currently have a stock as a rock HZJ75 series ute. My wife gets car sick real easy, and as the 75 rides like a truck, it is limiting the amount of times that we get out and wheel.
Is there anyway to soften the ride up without going to coils??
I was thinking about removing a couple of leaves from the front & rear pack, remove the bands around the pack & apply a good dose of grease between the springs to help them slide over each other. Also greasable shackles as well.
The problems I can see it that:
A) Axle wrap. How many leaves can I take out before axle wrap will become a problem?? I would like not to have to fit a tramp bar, but if it means I can take more leaves out and gets a better ride then so be it.
B) I will loose the 1 ton load carrying capabilities. I can live with this as I can fit polyairs if I want to carry 1 ton.
C) Will dirt/mud/sand get stuck in the grease & wear the springs?? Is there a better alternative to grease??
D) I have twin tanks (150L of diesel), a steel bullbar & winch, twin batteries & a diesel engine, so I don't want to take too many out of the spring pack & find they sag under the weight.
Any problems/comments/suggestions would be most appreciated, especially on how many leaves to remove.

I would say yes as long as you keep the grease up to them with the correct bushes. Around the $250-270 for frt & rear. A little tip if do go a bit hard offroad is to maybe find the cheaper versions of the ARB style Anti Inversion ones. I have even seen them in 2"extended ones recently.
I'm not stuck I'm over here!

You can remove about 3 leaves. Remove the small load leaf, and the next 2 small leaves. Keep the long load leaf as it will stop the axle wrap. On the fron remove the 2-3 bottom leaves and add the smaller load leaf from the rear to the front pack, which will also minimise the axle wrap. Ill have a look on my 40 to see what leaves im running on the front. I will also have a look at some pics of my old 45 to see what i was running on it.
