4x4 gear stick shaking

Post by Glennb »

just woundering if everybody elses 4x4 gear stick shakes when you drive off from standing still.(just as you take off). Im finding that mine shakes a little with my standard tires on but when I have my 32"s on it seems to shakes quite a bit and I can feel the car shake under me a little as well.
Can be worse if Im taking off up a hill.
Is this normal???????

cheers

Yep and I would be checking that mount as I found mine had cracked after a few trips in the rough.

Could be a couple of things, the larger tyres tend to highlight these sorts of problems :-
- rear uni is on it's way out.
- transfer case roll stopper needs replacing
- clutch is getting worn
- rear C&P backlash setting
Usually it's one of the first two or a combination of both.

Cheers guys Ill get the Mitsubishi guys to check that when I finally get this transfer case oil leak fixed.

Is the roll stopper a differant mount to the rubber mount that grumpy spoke about?
Cheers
