Fitch Fuel Catalyst

Post by kranked_dirt »

Does anyone run one of these? there was one going cheap on ebay a while back but i missed out, and there was something on the news the other night about them. Does anyone have any info on them?? I have checked out their web site but was after some opinions>

It has been proven that all these fuel catalysts DONT WORK. And I think it is now illegal for them to advertise any performance or fuel economy claims.

Save your money. If you want to save fuel, get a tune up, ease up on the right foot or fit LPG.

they were quoting figures on the tv the other day. Up to 10% (i think) improvement in economy and apparently more power (no figures for power)

dont think a news program would put that on if it was completely unfounded. (not sure what news it was tho)

like all of these things they are typically only suited to very specific applications and more often than not particular types of engines. So whilst that dude on the tv with his ??? car got 10%, its more likely that that is the absolute best application, and most other cars do not get even half of the improvement.

Installation of the fitch probably included a full tune which is where the horsepower came from.

Everyone should read this:

http://www.fuelsaving.info/debunk.htm

And specifically for "fuel catalysts" like the fitch here

http://www.fuelsaving.info/catalysts.htm

The other thing to consider is that a sample size of one or 2 cars with barely measurable improvements does not prove anything.

Since when??? Many news stations have reported on "water powered cars", perpetual motion machines and other such scientific impossibilities in the past. Anything for ratings.

Well I would only be paying attention to something with "fuel catalyst" in it if I had a car that needs to run on LRP. Apparently you need some sort of catalyst because the servos are cutting supply.

Apart from that I'd say stay away.

there is an ex copper here in wa who lives in geraldton, he has been working on a device for the past 25 years and has finally perfected it in the last 2 years , its more suited to fuel injected vehicles, he is running it on his late model fairlane, rac have tested it ive seen the figures..... 30% increase in power nearly half the fuel usage, a huge reduction in emmisions i mean next to 70% less , he has been approached by a big name oil company with offers in the millions, so as u do he said no, a week later he got death threats and being an ex copper he had all the right links. his biggest problem at the moment is that he wants to much money up front for some one to buy into it and alot of royalties and exclusive rights of manufacture for the computer. this device i have personally seen running and driven the vehicle, , this really needs to be on the market, but no one is really interested because of the cost and i think wat it will do to the fuel industry. so any one out there with enough balls to do sumthing about it with lots of money get in touch with me .

A "water powered car" isn't that far fetched - it just means they are splitting water into hydrogen and oxygen and burning the hydrogen.

The process is old, google "electrolysis", it's just that they can't convert water into hydrogen/oxygen efficiently enough to make it worthwhile because it requires a significant amount of energy to begin with to make enough fuel to keep the car going.

At least that's what they were having problems with last time I read about it.

So with offers in the "Milliions" why try to sell it???

Just take the offer..

Hear these stories but dont make sense??

It's not going to benefit the public if he holds onto it either......

I find it hard to believe a "device" can give such a big performance gain.
I don't want to sound sceptic, but 30% increase? So if you put one on an F1 car it will make an instant 180 extra horses

I saw a show a while back on the ABC about eccentric aussie inventers. One guy figured out a way of increasing fuel economy simply by vibrating the fuel off the engine vibrating which somehow increased its burning efficiency (something to do with making the fuel gasious i think), scientists had tested his methods and at the time hadnt completely figured out how it worked but said it did work.

Another guy built a steam powered cortina i think it was (it was a ford of some sort) during the 60's i believe, he got heaps of interest from US car manufacturers and they shipped him and his car over there to do demos. The reason it never took off was something to do with fuel prices decreasing at the time and the car companies decided it wasnt worth developing. Apparently it went just as hard as a petrol powered car. I guess technically thats a water powered car as well.

Being as dependant as we are on oil, its not hard to believe the conspiracies behind such inventions not being used, there are vested interests in the status quo by very powerful companies.

I haven't followed it up, but a bloke at work said there was a thing on telly the other day about Honda. Whether anyone saw it? somethign about a Hydrogen powered car, due out next decade or something.......?

The idea of a water powered car is simple, as mentioned above. It's the case of efficiently splitting the Hydrogen and Oxygen that's the issue.....

I've gotta say good on'im for holding out. Especially if it actually works.

Remember Ralph Sarich? His "orbital" technology was (I believe) bought by GM I think, and promptly shelved.
The steam power technology in the 60s was also bought by a car company and shelved.

 Hmmm.......it would seem.........if there's a readily available device which is supposed to save shitloads of fuel, maybe it doesn't work. coz if it did the big boys would snap it up and shelve it..........

that's the one. similar claims of better economy etc. surprised repco would go in for something so cheezy, it's more of a supercheap thing.
