Hi, jump on www.redbook.com.au and look through the private buyers area. That will tell you what years they were made and what engines they came with; plus give a rough guesstimate on prices.
If you want a decent one then be prepared to pay way above Redbook values.

The towing shouldn't be a problem providing you get the 2.8 turbo diesel, buying the 2l petrol would be a mistake IMHO. As far as finding one, they are reasonably rare. Try websites such as www.carsguide.com.au ; www.carpoint.com.au and www.carsales.com.au .

As far as i am aware the Rocky Ute never had a Turbo Diesel as an option, only had a 2.8 NA Diesel apart from the earliest models which also had the Petrol option.murcod wrote:The towing shouldn't be a problem providing you get the 2.8 turbo diesel .
If your planning on towing, might also be worth looking at a MQ/MK Patrol with an SD33 (3.3L Diesel) in it, should be able to find one in the price your looking at it reasonable condition.
i ran in to one today that was previusly a wetrac work truck the owner was an ex westrac worker. it usto have the drop doun train wheels so it could run along the tracks. im whating to here back from them to see if there are eny more. the only negitive thing was the size of the tray witch was huge and gave a very bad departur angle. but i could easily shave a bit off. dose enyone have sum pics rocky t'back utes as this one looked a bit bigger than most rockys
