Rear Side Window frames LWB GQ

Anyone needs em $165ea inc GST.. Couple of days hopefully to get in, and they are Genuine Nissan.

Are the fixed or sliding? Does this include rubbers? If so are the hot or something being genuine nissan at that price. :?

My sills are bulging big time so I need a set as well but dont know whether the old rubbers would go back in or not. Ive heard the rubbers are as dear as the frames so it becomes an expensive exercise to replace the whole lot.
Whereabouts in Victoria are you located?

Is yours LWB or SWB?

My LW frames came as rubber and metal all in 1.. but will find out omre tomorrow.

Was told by a wrecker here inWa that for $165 a side you can get some of the windscreen places to remove the sliders and replace it with a solid glass with new rubber no more problemsthats what I want to do

If you replace the frames with genurine nissan ones, you wont have a problem for about another ~14 yrs either (thats how long first ones lasted, and the new ones have drain holes etc), and can keep the opening windows... probably longer than you will keep the car.

No idea on the group buy. I just found em on the net a while ago and thought they were a better idea than the steel and seal jobbies.

The other thing I was thinking is for the guys going to convert to solid windows, they are really easy to break into the car (get under the seal from the outside and they pop out, no noise of breaking glass etc.)compared to the sliding ones.

Mine is an '89 Maverick LWB and they have only started to go over the past year or so. If I can get another 14 or 15 years that will outlast the vehicle.
Definately interested in a set and Cranbourne is close to Endeavour Hills. There is a really good post in the bible on how to replace them, makes it look easy. Lets hope so.

I don't know about the rest of you guys but I have and owned both and removed both and can do it from outside the car with no noise on both versions. Admitably it is easier to to do with 2 people (one on inside of car) and rope/string but is possible to do in silence from outside on both versions so no real advantage of either.

For your old rusty frames this is the company in W.A who makes aluminium frames Marine & Mobile Frames 08 93303800, these are black powder coated $363 a pair plus $61 for postage to Newcastle area.

Has anyone had a serious stab at repairing/recoing the existing rusty ones? My SWB is still not too bad in that area, but the recently bought LWB has a fair bit of rust. I was thinking of taking them out, cleaning them, hitting them with rust converter and a wire brush, priming and painting the metal, and then putting them back in.

Is this going to be a waste of time or is it worth a go? It seems to me like they only ever rust down the bottom.

could work. new ones have drain holes in them - OEM ones dont.. water and shit builds up = rust...

ok, you dont need the chrome bit...


usually its just the FELT and the FRAME, the rubber is usually ok.

Got my new super flash looking frames from bogged tomorrow is supposed to be the big day they go in but tonight I tried pushing on the inside top left rear corner of the window, how hard do you have to push. Cant feel any movement, there and as I am pushing on the glass dont want it to break while I am pushing. Do you need to maybe pull any of the rubber away at all?
