Hi guys,
Anyone able to tell me what diameter/pitch/length the studs in the hilux diff housing are?
I stripped a couple
Yeah, I could go outside and look, but I'm scared of the dark.
Would Supercheap or Repco have em?
Cheers,
Benno

Hilux diff housing studs
Moderators: toaddog, Elmo, DUDELUX
I just fixed a couple on my 60 that were stuffed too.... leaking diff oil from the bottlm of the housing where 2 of the studs were stripped.
Went to toyota and got some from there... with nuts... wasn´t too expensive but worth giving them a call. (I´d give you the prices that I paid only I can´t get my hands on the paperwork right now... I´m in Brazil at the moment!!!! )

When in doubt..... UTE-ERIZE it!!!
Best thing is you dont have to screw the M7's in Tony they just push straight in instead. Bit of gasket goo and your done!RUFF wrote:benno_from_brizvegas wrote:Hey cheers mate,
I just got some M7 x 1.00 mm bolts from Supercheap, can't be arsed with the studs

The studs in a Toyota Hosing are M8 not M7.
i just run bolts in the bottom 2 of mine (shaved diff) and they dont leak i just put a bit of gasket stuff on themausyota wrote:You may find that diff oil will seep along the threads of the bolts.
Studs have got the middle section with no thread that seals into the housing.
Just something I was told not sure how true it is.
Paul.
