Smittybilt Bull Bars

Post by ditch »

Hey guys, I've been looking around recently for a bullbar, and I came across these ones from SmittyBilt. I came across them on the Pirate4x4 wheeling site, so obviosuly these are from the states.

I think they look tops and I'm sure they look like they could take a bit of a beating. Here are a few pics, I need to know if these or anything close is available in Australia. Thanks.

ps. Winch mount is not necessary.

actually you said "ANYTHING CLOSE IS AVAILABLE". You wont find anything off the shelf "EXACTLY" like that. You will have to have it made by someone who does custom work.

Yeah Bubs I did find that out. :P

But the bars seem quite reasonable to me, and it's only a bull bar, how can it be built shitty?

I'm hoping there is somewhere in AUS that can import those puppies, at a reasonable price.

There's some pics of the bar Stu from F.A.T. made for me plus contact details here: http://www.outerlimits4x4.com/PHP_Modul ... highlight=

He could probably custom make you something as well.

Not _quite_ what I'm after, but might be interested in a custom job. If you don't mind me askin how much did the bar alone set you back? PM me if you want it private. Thanks.

Just called up Tony from USA4x4 here in Aus (www.usa4x4.com.au) and he says apparently SmittyBilt don't exist anymore at all......but the SmittyBilt site seems to say something different (www.smittybilt.com)

I was only really after a bar like this because on the pirate4x4 forum they go occasionally for pretty damn cheap. like $100 US. I'm really trying to find a good looking one here in aus for under like $300. But I guess I'm just dreaming. No luck so far, and I don't have the skills/equipment to make one up. Maybe someone here will, on the cheap ? :D

I'd give it a raz at school but we dont have any tools for bending

I'm hoping if I pressure the teacher enough he'll crack and get one though. Then I'll tackle it.

Just buy some 3" Exhaust tube and some Mandrel bends and cut it and weld it together. These bars are built for looks only. They are not strong.

Yeah I'll put the pressure on the teacher for more gear. Make it a bit easier.

Trays getting there don't you worry, cut out the holes for the bee-bee style lights today :D Once I weld that drop plate on she's ready for paint :) then ready to mount. YEO!

I'll worry about the bar work later.
Don't have enough money/skills to do the roll bar yet.
