Just got back, had an awesome weekend. The gymkhana track was very fookin slippery and the extreme track was an adrenelin pumper (especially in the zook) ;) :P

Well, we got back Sun arvo & have to say that it was one of the most disappointing gymkhanas that we have been to (and we have been to alot!) The extreme track was a great spectator event & the driver's & navvies gave it their all, but the gymkhana track, well, were do you begin. It was so tight even suzuki drivers were complaining. It was far too long for the conditions of the track. Then Sunday arvo after the gymkhana & extreme tracks had officially closed for racing, they opened the gymkhana track for one last run for those that didn't make it into the topgun shoot-out. To cut a long story short, a couple of cars before Chad was about to run the officials spat the dummy about the amount of pegs that were being knocked & closed the track. There was only about 6 cars left to run! What annoyed me was the attitude of the officials to the last few cars who had lined up for easily an hour to have a run, that basically we'll punish you because we can't do anything to those at fault. The biggest problem was that most drivers go to a gymkhana to have a chance to have a hoon, but to have a gymkhana were you don't get out of first gear is ridiculous. I have power steering in the patrol yet i got out of it feeling exhausted.

It's sad that the last Sunshine Coast Club Gymkhana we go to is such a poor one & will be the one most remembered. And our first one was at Green Park way back in 1988.

I realise they had insurance concerns, but agree the track quality was sad, the gymkana track was too long, tight & boring, I sorta gave up doing 3 point turns halfway round in a LWB Patrol and just flatened pegs instead, I wasn't the slightest bit interested in a second run. I also got stuck halfway anyway in some big muddy wombat holes.

I stuffed up the tinny race badly, and wasn't interested in the other 2 events, quoits used to be good but wan't on this year, replaced by bucket of water race. Bring back the dozer pull, slow & blindfold races.

The extreme track was good and I only noticed new CV noises afterwards from the drivers side.

It was about my 10th year attending, I'd recommend people enter lifted go-karts or wheelbase reduced Suzuki's next year.

On another note, anybody received their picture CD from Scooter the photographer yet?
Anyone got a contact for him?

Yeah, those tyres scored some victims, they will probably be replaced by 7.50x16 next year for insurance reasons
