Broken axle ifs

Hi guys, i've got a 91 sr5 luxy and i pretty sure i've broken a axle or tripode joint(cv) but im not sure what side i've done in... is there anyway that i can find out witch side it is with out pull it apart? any help would be greatfull :)

do the old full lock turns.

put your hands on the stub axles and rotate if they rotate excessivly with the hubs locked in or constant hubs that theres ya problem :D

Are you sure you havnt done a crownwheel?
They are usually the weakest link in an IFS diff.
The CVs are crap too though :)
