Well the finals are going to be on the 19/20 Nov at Milbrodale (Tuff Truck site) so we are going to run the Vic round as late as possible so that looks like sometime in October.

Thats as good as we got so far.

i know it sounds stupid, but the rc guys always find rock on the coast, literally on the waterfront.

what about somewhere over near sale ?

nothing out that way, the coast near Sale is pretty much flat with some swampy areas and the Lakes.

Up near Heathcote is plenty of rocky properties. Just need to find the right landowner. I almost bought some land up that way a couple of years back. 30 acres all rocky with gullies etc but it fell through when the land owner couldn't sub divide into certain size sections :bad-words:

Im confident that Cheezy and Hobzee will find a place. Cheezy said to me last week that he has a few places that would be suitable (although I dont know if these places are ready and "available") and Hobzee has found a place that I think is available but isnt ideal location wise (he thinks its too far from Melbourne - 2hours I think he said)

For this event to happen it just a matter of finding finding a location and landowner thats suitable. Hobzee's got the insurance sorted already. So the plan is once they got somewhere suitable (or beter still a few places)then I fly down and have a look. Then I drive down with the homeless and sort the tracks (or Cheezy is going to lend me one) and we are away.

For this event to be a success we wont need much lead time for the event. We dont need big spectators numbers (although would be nice), we just need to make this event happen and get it under our belt so we can build on it next year.

Like I said - Im confident it will happen. We just need the venue.

I was talking to Cheezy today and he said he has found a property that is the best he has seen. He will be taking a buggy or two for a run next week, I asked if I could tag along and was told very nicly too tell him what color the outside of the front roller door was  :D A very nice way too say PISS OFF. As far as I could make out It is close to the CBD and a very big area. I did hear a few of them saying that it is almost all rock and will be nuts. I couldnt hear any more as 4 of they went into the lunch room for a meeting with a council member. I then went into the toilet that is next too the lunch room and tried too hear what was going on. All I got was they will be looking at the venue again in the morning.
I will be going to Cheezy's again tommorow and find out what I can, (his workers are suckers for a good pair of jugs) I will report as soon as I know something. :D

How did you go, did you manage to get anymore info. If you didn't maybe you need to show a bit more skin ;) next time so they are a bit more forth coming.

On another note, hows the buggy you and your hubby are building. I am hanging out to see some pics of it, sounds mad.

I didnt get there today but will be there Sat morn.
As for the buggy, my hubby has started pulling the rear diff out as he now wants rear steer and some sort of special front steering ( he was cussing and mumbling something about it today after talking too Cheezy). I could only understand the main key words that were, Buggy, steering, hydro, rear steer, ram, EZ, dollars, Lots of dollars, more power, followed by Babe I got a good idea and Babe It just wont work without it and then We have come so far not too finish it properly.
I may be a woman and I drive a stock 4x4 but I know when I am getting done over. I will let him get his own way as I want too drive this buggy in comps too.
I will try and get some pics, but he wont let enyone shoot it untill it is painted. (Its a man thing).

I don't think they would allow a buggy in the Ateco, and even if they did it would not do that well.

We Rock Vic is going too be the most hard core rock crawling that will be seen in oz to date. We did some checking out of the property today and man its MAD. The traction on these rocks will catch out some people as they are grippy as I have ever seen so expect brakages and some NUTS driving. (A big statement) I think this round is where we in OZ catch up too the yanks. Over 50 of the most hardcore tracks I have ever seen, the most grip on rock (wet or dry) I have ever seen and over 3000 acers.
Pics will be up tonight.

Just over 1 hour North of Melbourne, and for those that say that Vic dosnt have rock, In the last month I have seen better rock on Victorian property than anywhere elso.
