Has any got an idea as to the cause of my noise.
My lt95 gearbox has started making a worrying noise.
When changing down from 3rd to 2nd it makes a whirring sound, if you push the lever firmly once engaged it becomes quite loud.
It feels like it could be pushing the gear to close to something.
When drive is taken up the sound goes away.
regards
Michael

My thoughts are leaning towards a thrust washer or caged needle bearing on the mainshaft

Thanks goes out to Manny @ MG workshops
His call was possibly too much mainshaft endfloat, 100% correct.
I had just overhauled the box, 1 months use had pulled the bearings in tighter than I was game enough to drift in with a BFH.
My love hate relationship with lt95's is set to continue.
