i dont know if i'm on the right track here but...
i've got a heap of old series prop shafts lying around giving me the shits
so i might as well turn them into something usefull.
if i get two uj yokes (the ones that bolt to the diff) and and weld their mounting faces together. would this be any different to the centre of a double cardin joint?
i realise i will have to rebalance and shorten the shafts - which i will have to do anyway.
hope this makes sense.

I don't remember that on the Stage 1 propshaft I had. I think the DII shafts are probably a bit different.Slunnie wrote:The DC joints in the middle have a "ball/socket" type joint that keeps it centralised and the uni angles equal. If you don't have that then I would have thought the propshaft will flap around everywhere.

How do the Stage 1 units stop from flapping around? Without a centre I would have thought the DC becomes like a second short shaft.
I think it is because they are in line that they don't move. If they were rotated 90 deg. they probably would. The stage 1 DC is similar to this...
