As many of you are aware due to unforeseen circumstances we have been required to move the Gymkhana to a new location. This location and Shire pre approval have only been confirmed recently.
Many of you may or may not be aware of the required time and organisation that is required to run such an event. Due to the time restraints, logistics, required applications, insurance and man power shortages that we have the committee has decided to cancel this year’s event and have the first event at our new home in 2006.
If we were to attempt to run the event this year we would burn out all our volunteers and the event runs the risk of not being a success or an enjoyable weekend for all those involved.
Should you have any further queries or would like to assist in the reconstruction of the new track please contact Alan Crane on 9571 1483 or email ttassie@westnet.com.au.
At this rate WA wont even have a single comp this year :(
Maybe its time to start the ground work for Ausyota's Southwest 4wd Chalenge.
Paul.
Wheres all the info about these comps posted. I'm still relativly new to 4wding but would like to check out what comps are happening in wa but don't know whats goin on as I'm not a member of a club or anything. I doubt I'm up for competing yet but would vey much like to go along and watch whatever events are happening.

Does anyone know if the Eastern goldfields is going ahead with their Gymkana this year?
It is listed in the events on http://ccda.4wd.org.au on the 1st of Oct but with no details.
Paul.
should just organise a weekend challenge our selves lots more fun limit amount of cars make it late this year either rock crawling at the quarry or if shanes parent would let us on their property
Sounds like fun.
Would you set it up with scoring and trophies etc?
Only problem with doing something like this the good ol insurance.
Even if you get waiver forms signed you are still liable as organiser if someone gets hurt and wants to be an ass about it.
If it is later this year I might even have the Lux and the zook going
Count me in for sure.
Getting back to the "Southwest 4wd Challenge"
Do you guys think that Manjimup is too far to come from Perth for a good full on comp?
Perhaps around Bunbury would be a better location.
It would be a lot easier for me to get some property donated and some earthmoving donated down here is all.
If I do make a comp it will be an Allterain Gymkana style event with a bit of everything.
I know a bloke that has said he will donate his property for a comp. I havnt seen it yet but apparantly it has lots of good mud and a rocky hill at one end. Sounds perfect but... It is in Greenbushes (ie nothing near by).
Talked to Allen Crane this morning and yes this years Night Owl is canceled .What they are doing is next weekend they are going to meet the guy who owns the new property that they are going to use to mark out the course. Then on the weekend of the 27th and 28th of August they are having a weekend busy bee and need as many people as possible to go out to the new site which is near Toojay to help clear the track .The people attending that weekend and anyone else who has helped out at the other comps is then invited to a fun weekend at the new course on thw 1st and 2nd of October to drive the course. That weekend will cost you $10 per head for the cost of getting some toilets out there as there is nothing no power water so bring everything you want should be fun.
What is needed is the support of all the people who want to see a quality comp evolve hear in Wa even if you can only make it for 1 day or 1/2 a day some thing is better than nothing .If you do come along then bring if you have them a shovel or axe chain saws its all to mainly just clear bush out of the course .
