Welded diffs
I have a 92 lux and i want to weld the diffs. i no a few zooks that have welded diffs and they have no probs but was wondering if the added weight could cause things to break. Will this happen or is the lux drivetrain strong enough?
I THINK I CAN,

the rear will b fine the only thing is the tyres will wear much quicker on the road..
the front will b ok on the road as the hubs will b unlocked, but offroad u will greatly increase the chances of busting a front cv and axle.. but no more so that fitting an ARb airlocker or similar

How can a welded front diff put any more stress on the front drive components than an air locked front? They are both locked! They have the same weak link (more than likely CV's). Of course if you drive on the HWY with the front welded diff and hubs engaged, you are asking for trouble. But you wouldn't do that with air lockers either.redzook wrote:ive already answer i told u the rear would be fine
i wouldnt do the front
and i belive a welded front puts more stress on then an airlocked front
i dunno bout u but my airlocker only goes on when i drive hard stuffglenxr650 wrote:How can a welded front diff put any more stress on the front drive components than an air locked front?
