LPG fumigation, anybody here done it?

I'm looking at LPG fumigation done cheaply (in other words do it myself) not to use on road, but to run off-road or in mud runs or mud drags.... in principle, it wouldn't be hard to do.... and you would only need a small jet to achieve benefit. Has anybody done it with a converter? or being an upright bottle using gaseous LPG and not liquid, can it just be done using a solenoid and high pressure line? i've seen figures quoted at over 3 grand to have a certified one for on-road use...... i reckon i could knock up an off-road one for less than $100 using my work contacts and make the hoses myself (i'm a hydraulic field service technician fancy term for hose fixer)

LPG gas is injected into the inlet manifold of a diesel engine. Boosts horsepower by about 15% on a non-turbo engine and up to 40% on a turbo engine. A lot of truck fleets are now using it. Works a bit like nitrous. and you can hook up your BBQ cylinder to it This link explains it fairly well.

Have one kit on my GQ turbo diesel, powergain is more like +20-25% than 40% I think. I have a 9 kg BBQ-bottle.

Gas is injected 8-10 inches before the compressor wheel and the pressure is 40 psi.

Paid 650 USD with freight for one Powershot 2000 kit.

oh..... Propane Injection. Very common stateside.
doesn't work like nitrous at all, as n2o is not a fuel, and propane is.

nitrous ozide is basicly condensed oxygen, and expands on contact with the atmosphere into a lot of oxygen, so you can feed a lot more fuel in, and burn it.

propane injection, AFAIK, increases the volumetric effeciency of a standard diesel engine, by adding a high octane, effecient fuel (from i believe about 70%) to about 95%.

when i said it works like nitrous, i mean activation wise... you can fit a switch on the accelerator.
I know how nitrous works i use to build kits years ago for a guy who used the NOS logo the same as the stateside ones..... they forgot to patent it here and Brad jumped on it. our kits actually produced more power than the states ones...... made hundreds of them. Nitrous is 2 parts nitrogen to one part oxygen.. when it enters the combustion chamber and is heated it breaks down into it's elements. from memory, the ratio was about 1 part nitrous to 2 parts fuel (on top of what already goes into the engine) something like that anyhow......
