i know you need gearing and major guard chopping but what else do ya need to fit these 38 inch tyres. size in mind are tsl 38x12. atm i have a 6 inch lift. will it be enough. how about power to turn these tyres. will a turbo be enough or will i need a intercoola and up the boost or a V8

at the front get control arm spacers and at the back, you should have adjustable top arms to correct you angle speccially on ure shorty. Put 38s on it and get kevlar panels out the front which have been built bigger to fit them, and get the rears chopped.

don't bother with spacers ... get drop boxes or snake or 3rds arms
or a 5link

dont get kevlar panels .. they shatter just as well as fiber glass panels
just modify the steel ones to suit

yer i know i will have to chop the guards alot, i was expecting people to say i need tcase and turbo. i got the quater pannel chop already and the 4.6. and drop brackets are on the way.

i think i will be ready.

also with 38 how easy is it to break thing like cv. is it best to sell my good ones now to recope some cost of getting the haultec heat treated cv. is there anything else i will need to upgrade/ make stronger

id definatly say you should get some Haultec CV's, and your idea on selling your current spares would be a good way to hlp with the cost factor,

on a side note, if you do decide to sell your spare CVs, PM me a price and list of what you got, ill be chasing spares soon,

cv's really only normally break with front lockers, otherwise you'll be fine.

and if you do have front locker, jsut be wise when you use it.

38's can easily fit with 4 in the springs 2 in the body (or 6in the springs) and minor guard chopping. try chopping out 10mm and folding 10mm back

with 4.6's and a turbo you have enough to clear mud, but an intercooler and boost it up for comps if your so inclined

Keep your current CV's till they brake. As if you are going to sell them you will need to sell them complete with axle. As usually when trying to remove they are broken. Cos the last technique I heard was put axle in vice really tight and then wack with FBHammer.

One thing everyone seems to be forgetting is you will need to upgrade your brake system significantly to cater for the larger wheels

I would say twin piston and slotted rotors.. theres shit loads more rubber and pressure there with large rubber..
IMHO - You want the most you can get..

mine fit with no body or suspension lift. just guard cuttting. i run 7" and a five link though which used to fowel the shock towers brfore the gu diffs. i would not go bigger than 36 unless you have gu's or are happy fixing stuff like cv's.
