CD player wont turn on.

Post by macklux83 »

Afternoon all,
For some strange reason my Pioneer DEH 1650 CD player refuses to turn on,it is getting power into the wiring harness but it does not seem to be flowing through into the head unit. I have checked the fuse and it is fine and im not sure what else could be wrong.
Any suggestions??
Cheers

They have a constant power which should be fused and from a powe source that only disconnects when you remove the battery and then there is another positive that goes on the ignition, this oneis gererally not fused.....are these both getting power?

usually it the red and yellow wires. i think they both need 12v for the unit to turn on. is it grounded properly? ground could have come loose?

did u wire it up yourself? reason being, if you used or cut the original factory loom, there could be a fuse in the factory fuse holder for the unit. but then again, you did say there was power to it.

or maybe its time for a DEH 1750 ?

Hi guys,
just checked again and there is power getting to both the yellow (battery) and red (accesories) wires. all the ground wires seem to be fine, but still nothing is happening! SikId,the stero was installed professionally when i bought it and it is still under warranty so it might be time to take it back and upgrade.
cheers

i had a leaky seal under the windscreen allowing drips into the top of the stereo, which corroded things enough to make it not work.. rip it out and take it apart (unplugged of course).. look for any suss corrosion anywhere..

this happened to mine when i went offroad and it got a bit bumpy

Find the reset button.. usually behind the face.. push that in reset it...and it reprograms it..

fixes it up all the time!! :)

Don't stuff around with it - you said it was under warranty! Check your fuses and then leave it up to the "experts" or else they may not honor the warranty. ;)
