diagnostics

Post by Clancy »

having problems with engine conversion. wondering if the engine check lamp or engine diagnostics not being connected will make the engine fail to start. the motor is a suzuki gti DOHC going into a sierra.

the main relay and fuel pump click in but the engine won't fire. any suggestions?

g'day,, sorry bout the late reply,, got a scanner now,,
first off check spark at each pot,
next check fuel flow (get a tin or something) then pressure,, careful. very high pressures,, can be 80-120psi of fuel
also check injector pulse,, a noid light,, or even a 4-5v led, also check that they all have power or earth as a constant with ing on. depending on system..
if thats all good,, its down to compression and timing - dizzy and cam belt.
good luck and let us know how ya go..
again sorry about the late return of you message,,
whatsup...
The man they couldn't r@#t, shoot or electrocute......

I'll own up too..... Did an EFI conversion and it wouldn't start. I was puzzled as I'd carefully followed the EFI wiring diagrams.

After a while I worked out the reason- the coil didn't have a 12v supply (it wasn't in the EFI wiring diagrams and I'd forgotten it  )

Is it the australian engine or an import engine?

Is the throtle body on the manifold or it the intake hose?
