coilover spring rates

Post by mud4b »

we have some dobbins coilovers (old type with 5 way adjustment) measuring....between coil retainers (with the adjuster nut right to the bottom of the shock)

extended....710mm
compressed......375mm

as far as we can work out the rear of the zook weighs between 130kgs
and 160kgs.

does anyone know how to work out the spring rate ? eg length, no of coils
, diameter of coils.

and who can make em soonish?

the zook barely drives on the road, most is trial and rock.

it also has no slider, so just a single spring.

Hey there Mark,
I don't have any personal experience with these but I believe the place to have them made is kings (which is on the Gold Coast) and they can do the math for you. However I don't know if they deal direct with the public :?
