A warning regarding extreme sports, including 4being

Post by baby_troupe »

As spectators......many do not think about event safety...they assume that nothing will happen or that event organizers have it figured out.........

One thing people need to remember.........in extreme sports anything can happen.....you need to think for yourself.....when organizers tell you to get out of the way or back up....do it....period....... If something doesn't feel right......think for yourself and move out of that situation.......you are also responsible at an event.

As competitors......think......if you want to try the extreme shiat...prepare yourself.....think cage.......think helmet....think 5 point harnes.....think neck brace.....just because you see others do it.....doesn't mean you should try it...... Many competitors have thought through the possibilities and take on the risk but they also calculate their safety into the formula. Don't try extreme shit unless you have thought through the possibilities of the outcome....

We will always continue to push the limits.........but we have to think first

Here's a clip of a rock crawling competition.........The new thing are these hill climbs.....notice the driver...is he correctly strapped in????? Notice where the buggy lands.....luckily there were other vehicles staging in front of the spectators.....what would have happened if those buggies were not there??????How many spectators could have been hurt?
The driver was knocked out and the buggy had the throttle down........

Mate,
I did not see the other thread, but as I know a lot of guys who go to comps as spectators and/or competitors visit this board, I would share it to help promote safety in this sport.
