2.4diesel exhaust
hey there i am in the process of making up a trac bar for the rear of my 2.4 diesel lux my only problem is the exhaust is right where the trac bar is meant to go..So my question is what size exhaust is suitable for the 2.4?(already has extractors)..And what are the legalities of having the exhaust finish just behind the cab facing the down and out? Also what should i expect to pay as it will only have one muffler and maybe need abotu 1.5 metres of exhaust tube? by the way i live in jimboomba so if anyone knows sumwhere in beenleigh, brownsplains or brisbane area that does fair priced quality work coudl you plz let me know

what do people reckon abotu just running a single little hotdog type muffler tucked up under the chassi rail beside the gearbox with some steel put up around it to save it from damage? I am thinking towards a 2.5" system

Just got a 2.5" system fitted to my 2.4 lux from the extractors back. Cost $350 including muffler and fitting. Made a big difference and was the same price as 2.25". They even painted it all black .....

where did u have your exhaust run through 82lux? i am thinking if extractors straight out into a hotdog muffler(2.5") then point it to the groudn just behind the gearbox crossmember.

Mine follows basically the factory route. From the extractors under the tailshaft to the left hand side of the truck, rearwards under the tub where the muffler is and over the diff. Exits just in front and inside of the left hand rear shackle.
As for cutting it short you may have legal issues and you will cover everything underside with black soot. But hey. Be different and give it a go. You can always tack more pipe on later if needs be.

the thing is i dont want my exhaust running past the cab and want to try sumthing different.. Because of the long range tank there is no other room for an exhaust behind the cab if i am to build the trac bar.. As in legalitites isnt a real big concern as there is already other illegal stuff on it(welded rear, 8"extended shackles)

Mine has a slightly more noticable note to it but the power is up a gear on hills.. Big difference. Went 2.5" because it was the same price as 2.25" plus I have an sc12 supercharger to fit to it....cleanskin wrote:does a 2.25" or 2.5" exhaust make any difference to the sound/ power to a 2.4 diesel with extractors??
