i am chasing some info on hard to get parts
Moderator: Micka
i am chasing some info on hard to get parts
if any one has some suggestions on parts that are hard to get for rovers
like drop and swing shackles gearsets and other driveline components as we are in the process of starting an engineering buissness mostly looking at the 4wd market between me and herc (my partner in crime) we have extensive knowlege on truck drivelines and suspensions and also high output Diesels
we are aiming small untill we gain a name in the market before we lash out on a cnc mill for gearsets herc has machined quite a few 4140 gears for pto aplications and we are looking at low range gearsets also
so any ideas on bits that nobody makes for rovers (or other vehicles )
will be appreciated
cheers

HYTUFF or 4340M axles up to 1.5" 35 spline for the salisbury.
4140 Stub axles (spindles) to suit the 35 spline axles.
Adaptors to mate a Borg Warner 1339 (Jeep T-case) to an LT230 - for a crawler box. Read this thread to see what I am talking about. http://www.outerlimits4x4.com/PHP_Modul ... torder=asc
Adaptors to mate an ISUZU 4BD1 to a ZF auto. Read this thread:

Seems to be some interest but Justin C has disappeared.

disk brake conversion bracket kits for series.
if you do these at the right price you'll sell heaps.

Maybe I'm missing something that is already out there, but I think there would be demand for cheap conversion kits to put the strong AEU land rover 90/110 CVs into series front axles to get rid of the UJs. 23/24 spline shafts to suit would also be good. Anyone agree?

Soeey mate but Series Landy diffs are abit in the past, they are very narrow and drum all round...not to metion they have weak points.
BUT there are still ppl tinkering with them so there would be some interest in runs of say 5 if it was cost effective.
HD carriers. Heavy Duty diff centre's, like a locker but without the locking mechanism, so still has side gears and 4 planetary gears
