ok well it's not broken...
but it hurts and is next to useless.
no power steering + 33x12.5 + rocky creek bed = carnage.
i spent the whole weekend being really careful not to put my hands anywhere that they'd get nailed - and it saved me a few times as the wheel got yanked outta my hands and did a coupla revolutions by itself.
crawling in 1 low thru a creekbed needed to turn sharply so i grabbed the wheel to start yanking on it and at the same time the sidewall pushed against a rock face. wheel went spinning and my wrist went with it. OUCH!
the power steering kits that were advertised on here that i didnt buy are looking pretty good right about now

I've been running 35's w/o p/s for months and months now (on an MQ). My hands and arms are definitely tired after a day wheeling. And I actually get RSI like pains in my forearms sometimes. So far, no injuries or close calls, but yeah it does flick violently sometimes. Just keep your fingers on the outside of the wheel. Good arm exercise too.
I'm not looking to go p/s anytime soon. Not keen on the extra load on the engine, more fluid to spill, another system to break, the extra load on the steering components, the reduced feedback and feeling from the road. I like the precision and connectedness of no p/s in the same sort of way I like manuals over autos, despite their relative offroading strengths.
When aired down I literally can't turn the wheel on road if I'm not moving. Shuffle back and forward a smidgeon and she's all good though. Just makes me more aware of the scrubbage on the tyres when you turn them I reckon.

extra dampeners makes ur steering heavier but at the same time it does reduce the impact yes....
power steering is the easy way to keep hold of the wheel....
