After market computers-

Hi all. I'm looking at replacing my factory ecu in my GQ SWB TB42e with an after market one like a Microtech or Autronic. The reason for this is my airflow meater stuffed up and It is going to cost between $1000- $550 to replace and an after market ecu will contol the motor without it. I also want to turbo in the future so it would be good to set things up for that as the factory one can't handel boost.

I was wondering what people have used and what is recomended. I don't really want to spend more than $2000 on one so any options under that.

if the aftermarket one doesn't use an airflow meter it'd probably use a MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor, ive got no idea what these cost, probably not dear, but just a thought anyway..

Microtech are about 1200.00 and are probably one of the most easy to use and you don't have to use a air flow meter as they have a map sensor as part of th computer you just have to run rubber hose from computer to the intake manifold and if you have basic eceltrical knowelege all the wires are taged where they go. So it's prety easy to set up and once you get it running close take it to a place and get it dynoed just to add the final adjustments and make sure the air/fuel ratio is right.

Wolf 3D computers are pretty good and reasonably priced too. the basic kit can be had for just under $1100

Version 4 is the latest and has a lot of good features.

Personally i would go one of these before a Microtec or an Autronic.
