shocks
I run Koni's - fully rebuildable.
Haven't heard any bad stories about them, apart from upfront cost. I got mine at the right price, so the cost wasn't a major factor for me when buying.
You'll get fifty different answers on here, but people will generally give a good honest opinion (more to the point, people will generally tell you about failures so you'll get an understanding of different shock weaknesses).

Koni's are great but hard to get for a 4 inch lift and expensive.
I recommend Procomp shocks and not because I sell them. I sell them because they are good and reliable at $125 each delivered.
For a limited time you can get yourself Dobinsons shocks to suit your 4 inch lift. They are $100 each delivered. Hope this helps.

I run the Tough Dog adjustables. They seem pretty good and have the added advantage of the adjustability which would be a plus if you are doing the desert runs. You can set them for load and corrugations and then reset them for bitumen etc.
Not cheap though at about $250 a corner.

Boopa - got the following:
F 82-2347 and R 82-2348 (so yes, 82 series).
Paid a lot less than $220 each (I know someone in the trade).
