Articulator on GQ?

Has anyone fitted an articulator to a GQ? Looking at buying one (if there are any left!).
Also, what is the diameter of the fr/rr sway bars on a GQ?

Might wanna try this question in the Mitsu section. Frank (Bitsamissin) makes/organises them (or at least used to) and they will work with any swaybar with a long enough straight section in it. You'll just need to order a special size to suit your swaybar diameter.

I know a couple of guys running them on their ifs rigs, and it makes a huge difference, but was wondering if anyone runs them on a GQ, or any beam axle for that matter. Would like to know if I could expect the same results.

Dave I replied to your email.
Unfortunately as I said it won't work on a Patrol.
Initially these were designed for the Paj IFS but we discovered that it will suit a lot of other IFS rigs including some live axle trucks.
Basically it works on a swaybar that has a straight section between the two mounting points. Most IFS bars are like this but also some live axle bars are suitable particularly Jeep Wrangler fronts and some Rovers.
Any bar that wraps around the diff or suspension parts is generally not suitable.
It does help a lot on IFS trucks

Would it still work if mounted not in the middle of the sway bar ? Im not sure how much room is needed to fit an articulator, but there are some 'straight' bits on the front / rear swaybar somewhere from memory.

You need about 160mm (thats the Articulator width) I'm willing to supply one for free if someones willing to test fit one. The smallest diameter swaybar that will fit is 20mm but I think GQ's are thinner than that ?

Yes that pic is a classic I never thought a Paj front end would move like that but obviously it can.

yea, im more than happy to cut a swaybar up and try it......hrmm maybe i can sleve the swaybar before i fit...

Im pretty sure the rear swaybar would come close if not more than 20mm

Yep ok Dave but when I looked at one a while ago they looked pretty thin something around 18mm I would have thought. The GU ones are a bit thicker.

I'll check anyway, If the GU ones are thicker they could be swapped in. I think the GQ and GU are interchangable.

Same here Frank, I have a pair of GU swaybars that are somewhat redundant now. I'll measure em if you want and you welcome to choppy-chop if you wish.
