Old news dude

this maybe a dumb question, but when car dealers are 'wholesalers' does it mean prices quoted are for sale to other car dealers and dudes off the street are charged more
It's just another selling method to draw us in, but as you buy wholesale there is usually no warranty, roadworthy or registration etc, that's all up to the purchaser. Sounds like easy work for the dealer, buy the car cheap at dealer auction, do nothing to the car, mark up the price with dealer margin, flog to one of us with no come back if car is knackered. Buyer beware. In saying this i've bought a few in the past and if you know your stuff there's no dramas and bargains to be had.

Caryards love doing this. My dad used to run a motor trimming business and the local Toyota were always sending in vehicles to be retrimmed. When they arrived in his workshop they would for example be a bog stock 80 series cruiser complete with split rims, vinyl interior etc. Dad would redo the seats in a nice cloth and fit carpet, have any holes in dash or other plastic from things screwed to them plastic welded and filled. The time the things seen the yard, they would have alloy wheels, bullbar, flares and everything else imaginable to dress them up to hide their battered history.mickyd555 wrote:if that is infact a mining vehicle, then it has been worked on since leaving the mine.......paint and panels look to be in good nic, and that bullbar wouldnt have been on in the mine either. the lights have also been removed from the roof.........
