If your priming pump is stuffed I saw one on ebay for $45 new. I think it was listed under Toyota parts

My LN106 pump (and Im sure all other toyota vehicles) screws into the down position after pumping. How is your filter, is there crap in the tank?

When there is a fuel blockage on the tank side of the primer the pump will get sucked down. Mine used to do the exact same thing. Found the little filter thing that is on the pickup line in the tank had come off and there was a little rock in the tank. The rock was to big to go up the line but small enough to get stuck in it write at the start. This would restrict the fuel and if it did it while I was driving I would have to remove fuel cap, then remove the fuel line from the primer/filter and blow back down the line and it would blow the line clear and off I would go again. Some times it would do it again within a week other times it would be a month or 2 before it would do it agian.
