actualy it would be good to see what people have done and how they
mounted them would be appreciated

mounted to the body mounts, they are pretty tough i don't think they will bend i had a look into a few different spot and alot of people have theres mounted here and have no problems

the pics don't show it but they are bits of angle iron and we bolted then in through the top aswell

thats the exact same way i mounted mine i am going to make some like
in the pic i posted i found that i had trobble stoping the flex of the slider
with the weight of the LWB

yeah i was just thinking that you with the long wheel base you might need like 3 mounts

although you will find if you make sliders like in the picture the overall look of you car is better.

when mine was completely orange before i put the black chequerplate on it just didn't seem finished once i did that it looked 100% better, so i rekon on your's sliders like in that picture would look doublely sweet

Did you just weld the tube to the end of the of the angle?
What gauge tube did you use? Got any pics of where the tube and angle meet, Ive been thinking of making some since i bashed mine recently.

we cut the end of the angle so that the tube could sit up against it, so we cut like a curve into it

we put the mounts on then i held the tube into them while dad tacked it then we took the whole thing off and welded it properly

i am not sure what guage tube we used dad just grabbed some some out of the rack at his work, he would know but he's asleep so i can't ask

i used 50 x 4mm round hollow

even though it has only the two mounts i can still jack the whole side
of the car off the ground gets flex of only about 10 _ 15 mm

but i also trust my own welding

it will be interesting to make the NEW sliders

does any one have any mounting sedgestions it will run FLAT along the floor pan?????

the body mounts are not all that strong, i would suggest using a flat steel plate as a "washer" much like this.

When i've finished the Hilux and start back on the Zook i was planning on running angled gussets on the body mounts to act as sliders for the mounts and provide added strength.

here's my bumper i fabbed from aluminum plate. it has held up to some hard winching so far

so where are the pics of this on the car as i am thinking of doing something along the lines of this but adding sliders onto it as well so it is all one piece (should be stronger that way)

Just wondering could someone tell me if this would this be legal in Australia? Or is it too sharp edged?

I like the design and would like to get something similar made up.

Can be made legal, use hella inserts with built in parker for headlights, round all corners with a 5mm radius, and uprights may need a bit of 1" plate in front, or thick enuff to round off with the 5mm radius.
