I need to take out my locked rear diff to get the air locker fixed, I have a centre from a 60 series.
Will it fit ??
Ratio's may be different but this is only to run on the road so front will not be connected.
Any advice would be appreciated
Cheers

Im here for the sausage!
Re: Swapping Diff Centres
into your 40? yes it will bolt in and the axle splines are the same. the pinion flange on the diff may be a different bolt pattern, but I THINK the PCD is the same so you might get 2 bolts in which is sufficient for tooling around town - otherwise it's not hard to drill the flange to suit. once again 2 holes will do.greenfourby wrote:I need to take out my locked rear diff to get the air locker fixed, I have a centre from a 60 series.

HOWEVER if your 40 rear end is full floating then I would just make up a dodgy plywood cover plate for where the diff came out, and stick some rags in the holes in the ends, and drive it on the front diff. saves you fitting and pulling diffs out too many times.
Free air locker to the first 20 callers!

Front diff is stuffed too (I Think) so I will try the rear replacement for now
