What clutch to put in my turbo GQ?

Hi all. i have a turbo diesel GQ. i shat a pressure plate on the weekend and i was wondering what everyone else is using in the fairly modified trucks running big tyres and huge turbos etc etc. pbr, safari tuff (daiken)any help would be appreciated, cheers

Give ontrack a ring they did a good clutch for spraky.

We went CentreForce on ours. Only problem (I hear - I haven't needed to try it yet) is that you apparently can't flat-change if you bugger it up again.

Does anyone know if this is true of the C/Forces?

Does anyone have any info on the safari tuff? these seem to be available everywhere and most 4by shops are using them. what do the big boys think?

hi Hz, your happy with the performance of this clutch then? any major problems, to hard, soft, etc etc.ive heard they are a great clutch, im pretty keen to just put a safari clutch in but thought i would do some research. cheers

RPM have just release a clutch that they state is better then Safari Tuff.

Higher clamp pressure and better built materials.

Just another option. Not sure on price but i know that the safari tuffs are expensive.

Or Direct clutches in Brisbane do a Twin Diaphram 3400lbs unit which i run in my truck. The safari Tuff i had only lasted 4000km, plate was fine just not enough clamp pressure.

i use a safari tuff HD , has more clamping pressure that the std safari tuff clutch.
i spat the std safari tuff clutch with only 140 rwkw and 36" tyres ,
the new clutch has handled the 190rwkw thats going through it now.

So how do the Safari clutches rate against the CentreForce range? Don't shoot me down here... I just don't know. I've not heard of the Safari units before.

yeh happy with the performance ... i have the clutch boosters in my patrols ... some patrols didn't come with them ... dx models maybe

has got plenty of feel can crawl with it no worries lil be heavier but if ur worried about that then ditch the 4wd ... any 4wd with serious power will need a HD clutch of some sort and they'll be a lil heavier then standard ... you'll get used to it tho

hi, thanx. i have done some research and it turns out that the safari HD clutch has a standard clutch plate and a heavy duty pressure plate.however the Safari tuf kit has a heavy duty pressure plate and a heavy duty clutch plate. this information was given direct from exedy (daikin) suppliers them selves this morning. this is why i thought i would ask around because it didn't make sense. i simply told the fella what i wanted to do woth my nissan e.g 35" etc etc and he said safari tuff before i could finish explaining, cheers.
