2 Questions. Where did you get it from and is there any footage of me and Birdy?

Thanks
Joe.

Paul van der Horst had the DVDs last week at the CCDA meeting and was giving them out to teams. As Roger wasn't there I never got a copy, but from what he said they were for drivers, so as with all OBC things, you'll all have to wait. Something were all good at.

OBC sponsorship

Post by Hobzee »

OBC just don't get it, Im convinced! An event sponsor should get 80% of the sponsorship return from what people see on the DVD. You be the judges - Did Warn get their moneys worth or did arch rival TMax do better?

Oh yeh, they also forgot to do the advertorials (interviews or comments on event sponsor products) again.

I'm beginning to think vehicle sponsorship is better than event sponsorship - except in my events , of course!

Wait until you see the DVD... the nightmares start again :D

At least I can laugh at us... the marriage counselling is working.

Pam, some good footage the boys in action, and no subtitles when Neil is speaking :D

I watched the vid in 2 stints, Fell asleep both times. Merrick needs to lose the monotone voice over and get someone entertaining. The vid hasn't changed in 5 years. Same shiat again.

But they keep sponsoring the event?

We've had a watch of the dvd thanks to someone who bought a copy. It's def. got more action this time round but I totally agree...same old voice over.....and no little amusing happenings either....OK so it's a serious comp. but bring back the Hall brothers and a bit of humour. How about also portraying the women competitors in a better light for a change..........it's hard enough competing in such a male dominated sport.
I'm sure the women who are sitting with their men watching wouldn't be encouraged to give it a go..........yet I've had the best time each year even if it has been hard at times it's also been the best experience going......even tho we've had our fair share of bad luck and breakages, we've also had a lot of positives...but you never get to see or hear about them.
So yeah I'm again disappointed........

And for the record...we didn't retire with a "collapsed front end" but because the Viemont mud got into the engine.

Just thought it might be worth letting you know, if anyone wants a copy of the '05 OBC DVD, I'm selling one on ebay, http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... 4570178256

Hope you don't mind the plug, someone might want a copy?

Cheers,

Although the Parent Directory page http://www.offroadimages.com.au/OE/Events/OBC2005/ originally contained links for all the teams, since the 8th August it has just been up to team number 50. There seemed to be a whole lot of activity between 1st and 8th August when the PD was updated and pics were uploaded for most teams, but since then diddly-squat has happened and no link has appeared on the actual ORI website.

Although team Numbers 40, 42 and 43 are in the Parent Directory they do not have any photos up yet, so it isn't just photos for teams 51-57 that are missing. :?

Does anyone know why it is taking such a long time for all the team photos to go online ? I emailed ORI a few weeks ago but got no reply.

At least we have the DVD now though ! :D
