Jungle Trekker II

Anyone running 33x11.5" JT II on a RR. Will it a fit with a 2" body lift and 2" OME lift without any fender cutting
Would likea feedback how much that tyres have a tendency to dig in and its on road performance on wet tarmac? How noisy is it compared to an ET I 32"x9.5 which I found very loud?

How would you compare it to a BFG MUD or TRXUS?

I've had the 33x10.5 and currently run the 34x11.5. They are noisy like the ET. Not a quiet tyre at all. I've not run the Trxus, though in comparison to the BFG, smooth rock work is similar, vibrations are more, flat spts are more, road manners are less with more squirm and less traction, traction in all other conditions, especially mud and irregular surfaces is light years ahead.

Which did you prefer the BFG mud or the JT II as an overall off-road tyre?
What did you mean by "traction in all other conditions, especially mud and irregular surfaces is light years ahead.

The JT2 is by far a better tyre off road in comparison to the muddies. Its similar in performance to the ET's. The traction made by it from the rubber compound is just nothing special as the rubber is quite hard, but the physical traction it makes by grabbing irregularities in the road is phenominal. The same with mud, the bars keep it driving, whereas a muddie clogs. The tread design is where its outstanding, a little rock,a bump in the surface or an edge to grab and it will drive.

Is it hard to balance the JT II?
Have you tried rockcrawling?

Is it as bad as the ET on wet roads as I think the JT contact surface is wider.

Gday Jay,

Not rockcrawling as such, I use them for play on trails. Theres a group of us that go out to drive hard trails being a combination of all surfaces. In the Aussie Rockcrawling scene nobody uses Simex at all. It seems the Interco tyres, Micky Thompson Claws and BFG Krawlers are largely the go for this type of work.

The JT2's balance up no worries. They are a lump of a tyre though.

On wet roads they're ok, but I dont push it. MTR's are my road tyres. What I do notice is that they tend to be snappy, so if you boot it it'll go from traction to a lot of wheelspin very quickly. It is a hard tyre, mind you thats is good for wear if thats a concern. The tread face on the JT2 is definately wider than on the ET.

So I guess if the JT II is a heavy tyre that tends to dig in I am better off with a TRXUS as an overall tyre for on/off road...only pitfall will be in mud
