Guys,
I have searched through a lot of posts on this and other forums and there seems to be a few owners of these vehicles around.
I'm looking to buy a 1990 wide bodied model with the 2.5 intercooled turbo diesel.
I have no real knowledge of this vehicle, in standard form what size tyres could you fit? are there parts available and do the Aussie aftermarket bits all fit the import, bull bars etc.
I'm doing some research before I look at the vehicle. How reliable is the engine and did the aussie spec pajeros come out with a 2.5 turbo diesel?
For the guys who have these vehicle has there been any problems?
Cheers soon to be converted toyo driver

Import SWB Pajero

Re: Import SWB Pajero
90 would be GenI, the boxy body shape. Its a part time 4wd system (no center diff). Are you getting auto or 5speed? The 90 auto should be fitted with a lockup torque converter, so you'd be good whichever way you go.1hzzzz wrote:Guys,

Tires: you can fit 31x1050s with no mods whatsoever. 33s will go on with a few tweaks. 2.5TDs run 4.88 gears or better, so you should be able to turn just fine.
Can't speak to the engine, as I have a petrol model, but J-topper has you covered there...
