Got a softie but the rego is based on vehicle weight so hey the cheaper greenslip would be slightly outweighed by the dearer rego
Greenslip and rego cost me $800-ish (under 25 too )

1 year... naturally
The Greenslip (compulsory third party insuranse) was $547
The pinkslip (safety inspection at certified mechanic) was $27
The actual rego (which requires the above hence it adding to one cost) was roughly $220
All in all i don't mind, i can get run over in good conscience whilst i cross the zebra stripes

In WA i find that all softtops are rego'd as utes and hardtops are as panel vans.
I love the look on a coppa that pulled me over a while ago and asked what my panel van was. As mine is a drover it is registered as a
1985 Holden Panel Van.
cheers

I beg to differ you go to your local vicroads and ask them its different for utes trust me and you can register them as a 4 seater ute87suzi wrote:What the hell? You's are all confusing me, in Victoria it doesn't make a difference what car you drive the rego is always around $530 last time I checked. I've never heard about rego prices varying for different cars, only insurance premiums.
There is a catch to that though as you cant have people in the back with the soft top down

My soft-top is registered as a ute.
Paid $180 for 6 months non-business, WA by the way.
From memory it would have been around $345 for a full year.
People have said regos slightly less for utes because they're commerical vehicles.
