GQ Rear swaybar disconnects-Bar drops when disconnected???
Have installed snake racing swaybar disconnects - when the bar is disconnected it works its way down, so the two disconnected ends are hanging below the trailing arms( so it will get caught on anything!!! ). Spoke to snake & they said that the "d" bushes must be too worn. NOT HAPPY with that (OR THEM) as didnt believe that would fix it, as the bar rotates through the bushes in the same plane, ie, they can never hold it up ...... Replaced bushes anyway....... Bar still rotates down.
Anyone have any ideas on how to stop the sway bar from rotating, as i would still like to have the bar and use the disconnects?

i bought some through manell motors 2 year ago on the same thought, and relaiszed the same as you did, but they were always going to drop no matter what you do, you could always run 2 occy straps, to hold it up, and the wont stop any wheeltravel, as they will stretch,

use duct tape. just make sure on the front you fold it the correct way or i chews out you tyres - i know from experiance with a near new radial claw and mate that helped, and i didn't explain / check

i have extended links/disconnects( 100-150 mm longer) but if i leave one side connected it completely stuffes the bushes on both the bar and the disconnect. Down travel is grater than that can be allowed by the bar,even when it rotates vertically.

Umm, the dissconnect kit is one for the front and one for the rear.
You only need to dissconnect one end each bar, and it renders both sway bars inopperable.
Dissconnecting both ends is totally unessessary.
My Factory dissconnect unlocks one end of the rear.
It came from the factory with no front bar.

True, but as mentioned earlier if i just disconnect one side, the entire weight of the rear axel/tire on the side that is left connected, is held up by the disconect/sway bar rubbers, and it stuffes/spits them within 3 weeks.

True, but as mentioned earlier if i just disconnect one side, the entire weight of the rear axel/tire on the side that is left connected, is held up by the disconect/sway bar rubbers, and it stuffes/spits them within 3 weeks.
Yeah, i don't really understand what you mean.
If you take out one of the linkages that attach the sway bar to the chassis, you have disabled the sway bar.
What you saying is that by doing this you get more articulation in the axle to the point were its stretching and pulling the bushes to the point were they get knackered in no time??
If thats the case, extend the linkage to the chassis and the dissconnect to match.
You have a sus lift i presume and are still running the sway bar in its standard form??

Just leave them off. What they don't say in the advertising is the bit about the slow re-connect, crawling under the mud encrusted vehicle and having to use a hammer to get the farking things back in again, then the bl**dy pins won't line up followed by your mate yelling, "I'll help" as he jumps up and down on the rock sliders continually expelling the breath from your body as you are trying to yell out "NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!" or the bit about pulling the 'R' pins out and then loosing them some where etc etc.
