front diff, planetry gears
..well the front end dramas continue for my car!
This time i have chiped teeth in the Planetry gears...
I konw this question has been touched on befor , but will a 4WD Systems Lokka fit a Frontera Sport?
I know Lokka is avalible for Rodeos , Jakaroos, and MU, but i was under the impession that the front diff in the Frontera Sport was different to these?
Any feed back would be greatly appreciated,
Thaks Matt

As far as I know it is the same 10 bolt diff. Although as the ARB application guide states:

So I guess it is possible that yours may be different. Some builds between December 1996 and May 1998 used an unidentified 3rd member and carrier with a different ring gear and bolt pattern. A 3rd member with the same ratio may be swapped from earlier or later models for Air Locker installation

What do ARB mean about the 3rd member above?
I always assumed it was just something to do with the diff but when I went to ARB yesterday they said it was a huge job. That you would need to replace the entire diff housing. They weren't any more specific than that though as they just wanted to sell me a rear locker instead.

Well dispite what 4wd systems said ,the Lokka DOSN'T fit the Frontera Sport . I found out the hard way....
So with the planetry gears alread stuffed and the diff apart, ive decided to weld the front.....what have i got to loose
Its going to be intersting finding out how long the diff will last welded, and i imagine it will put more stress on the axel and CVs.
I will keep u posted on how things go.

Hmm.. this is my big concern on buying something unseen.
Might sound like a wimp but the cost of purchase and installation at times is worth it. If the vendor has the car on the hoist and finds the lokker does not fit... who's problem is it??
I do not know if i am willing to take the chance with so many unknowns.
Cheers
