Manual GLowplug button for 40 series

Post by Chump »

HI guys

I first posted this in the auto elec section but only got one resonse which did not answer the question.

Just a quick question

I have a '78 40series LandCruiser and am having a few little probs with the glowplugs. I used to have a manual button installed where i could turn the key to accessories and press a button on the dash which would manually heat the plugs but i had a starting problem and when i took it to the auto elec he disconnected this button without my permission and removed the wiring stating that it wasn't needed. I now want to put it back in as the car is having a few troubles keeping the heat on a cold morning.

Can anyone please infrom me on how to put this back in myself? Keeping in mind this is obviously not the superglow system just the old turn the key back to glow possition to glow the plugs method.

Cheers in advance!

You want a manual button or the key turn one?

Could not find your post in the elec section.

Have a look at this site, I think you should get the idea:

For VW, but same principle applies....I could not find a Toyota one on google.
