Bundera radiator?

Post by Arron nz »

Yes this is another hilux cooling question.

Does anyone know if a 2.4td bundera had the same radiator as a 2.4td hilux/surf?

The reason I ask is that I have a holden 3.8 hilux which only just keeps its cool (and Im worried that during comp work/heavy mud blocked radiator type conditions that I will have to stop and let her cool, which defies the point of most comps) and I know a guy who has the same engine in his bundy (with standard radiator) and if he leaves his fan on then the engine stays cold (ie as cool as the holden computer will let it run, about 180 degrees f)

Also what radiators have you guys been swapping into repowered hilux's?
landcruiser? forklift?

I all ready have the bonnet lifted and two 9 inch pusher and one 16 inch pancake pull fans (and yes they all pull/push the correct way?

I dont really want to go down the electric water pump track.

Any help or suggestions would be great.

Thanks.

Hi Arron!

Recently i´ve replaced the raditor in my lux.
I also thought that the bundys or surfs have bigger radiators,
but a local radiator-specialist proved the oppisite to me.

The radiator of my hilux LN105 is about two inches higher (other dimensions and the tube system are the same) as surf and bundy.

Also the factory clutch is stronger as f.e. in the LN130 or LJ73.
I think this is because of the higher additional load?

I decided to give my radiator a new tube system and it works fine so far...

Regards

Michael
