Any one know if it possible to adapt a dual transfer setup into a 40 using the 2 standard trans cases

dunno, but marlin made an adaptor to fit a hilux transfer in teh middle. can be as low as 315:1

Very interesting cheers for that

but....

I wanna use 2 transfers from a 40, that uses a highlux reduction housing,


i have 2 complete 4 speeds from a 77 and 78 40 series just thinking about some options for them

for that i think you would need to design and custom make every thing.
new drive sharft's, out put, in put,x-member, adaptor plates EVERYTHING.

keep us posted on what you do.

Honestly i dont think i will do it as i really have no need for it


Just thinking out loud as i had access to all i needed except the adaptor to join em together


Might sell the second box to make some money back

it is almost impossible with a cruiser transfer, as they employ a different design strategy which sees the reduction part of the box integrated with the 4WD part of the box - it is impossible to separate the reduction "side" of a cruiser transfer from the "front drive" part, so very, very difficult to stack them. I can't say it's impossible, but far more expensive and difficult than what marlin has achieved with the toybox. Toybox wins.
