Post by NISMOgemini »

i reccently bought a 90' single cab on 33's with the standard dif ratios

just wondering what kinda mileage yous are getting from the 22r.. it has a 60L (standard i assum?)

i have yet to run a fuel tank out but by the looks of it im gonna pull 500km form 60L this sound right compaired to others with the 22r lux's?

(this is after accounting for the speedo and odmeter being out)

cheers

Around 350-380 with 31" & 330-350 with 33"

Including K&N air filter, snorkel, hyclone, extractors and free flowing exhaust.

The 22R makes a great boat anchor!

33's on standard diff ratios put the speedo and odometer out approx 22.7%

so the 400km on your odometer really means approx 490km...
if u didnt already know that..

i stil havnt finished my 1st full tank... (got 1/4 tank left) and iv already done 330km (which is really approx 400km after accounting for the odometer being out) so im hoping to his 480+ true km b4 the 60L is finished..

lol real acurate mesuring, like that im suprised u could get a percentage to a decimal point.. seems obsurd to me.. 33's on my dsl change ratios less than 10 percent.. get the manual and check the ratios, do the maths propperly.. way i figure it is im only kiddin myself with how many kms i get when i acount for ratio missmatches ect..

well following at 110 and the reading being 85.. working with them 2 numbers it would be exact (exact for them 2 numbers = 22.7%) it might actually be out for the car itself.. like i might have been following at 108 and the speedo read 85.. or i might have been following at 113 and the speedo read 85, ect.... yes theres room for error like that but using 110 and 85 , 22.7 is exact..

with this iv marked all the locations of the speeds on the clusted and use them instead of the stock markings, and using them i seem to flow with traffic pretty much right on at all speeds, which would tell me that its farly close to being acurate

when i get some spair $$ im gonna get a VDO speedo as its self calabrating.

easy was to figure it properly is to take the tyre size that the car had when released from the factory, (the speedo will be geared for this size) then work out as a percentage how much bigger your 33's are, and that percentage will be the percentage your speedo is out...
for your 22.7 value to be corect 22.7 percent of 33 is 7.4 inches, this means for your speedo to be 22.7 percent out your 33's are 7.4 inches bigger than standard.. this would mean luxes came out with 26's as stock... i think not!!

you will find a 750/16 was the stock tire, measuring about an inch smaller than 33's, in turn puttin ur speedo out by about 10.5 percent...
ymmv

ok ...heres some maths

inch=25.4mm
pie=3.14

Circumference=diamaterxpie

C33=33x25.4xpie
=838.2x3.14
=2631.95mm

C31=31x25.4xpie
=787.4x3.14
=2472.44mm

Therefore percent=2631.95 / 2472.44 (-1 and x100)
= 6.45% roughly :)
