HAd a slight mishap on the weekend at five rocks. Does anyone have a Front Diff housing to suit a 1990 Leaf GQ CAb Chassis they want to sell. It has the huge rear diff but i don't know the ratios
If you look closely you can see that the leaf pack is almost the same angle. Some sort of bend is in the tube. i'm going to pull off the passenger side and check axles and stuff
Been there - done that at Stockton Beach - when I jumped a dune in my LWB GQ I didn't see because of sun glare. Sometimes you just can't see them at all up there....
Anyhoo, I bent my front just like yours. I had a 5-degree bend (or so I was told) and had it straightened by TruckAlign in Sydney. They put the pumpkin on a centre block and then threw chains over the ends of the axles and pulled down until it was straight again. Apparently they do lots of diffs in this manner. The metal isn't quite as strong as it was before - so no more jumping dunes unless you have it removed and braced with extra material.
Having being straightened once before, mine has been OK ever since because I haven't punished it like I used to. It's quite acceptable for day to day offroad club activities though and has not bent again..........
if your keen to get your diff strengthened i recommend Fourby's they did mine ask Ryano on this board

He He. Nice work mate. I dont drive my car THAT hard, cause i can't afford to have it fixed!! I think my old man hit a big roo a few years back and bent the diff (in my MK). He just got it straightened out as above. Hit another roo 2 weeks later, ended up just getting another diff.
ryano did you use a kit (please pm $$) for the lamination or is it just cut square section. i will diy mine, but a kit will make it quicker thanks mate
