i went to king towbars and asked to sign the petition and they looked at me blankly, also went to Tjm as i thought they would have one but they dont.
have to go out to brads at mobile workshop supplies and he printed a copy out, im first on the list!

It’s to find out what people think it’s being held by parks and wildlife, lands department and the recreation users association

The TRVA Southern Executive met with Parks senior Planner Gary Willmott last Wednesday and had a frank and open meeting. They realise that this is a hot potato issue and fully expect users to be pissed off. They expect that their proposed Plan will go to the Planning Board and thus will hear submissions from user groups etc. over their proposed plans. I can only stress that you contact your local pollies and bash their ears bigtime over this one. It is generally considered that the personal contact of one voter to a pollie is equal to the opinions of 100 voters!!! So if you really care follow this advice PLEASE! Petition signing is good too but personal contact is the way to go, trust me. The proposed closure will not come into effect until possibly summer of 2006 or later. We are leaning towards the alternative track that parallels the existing tracks to the Spit but must stress that nothing is decided yet.

Black Swan lagoon will fall under the same Management regime as the main track from their point of view--i.e. they would like it closed. I guess from the point of view of trying to keep a low profile (us) it would be better to leave Black Swan alone as Recherche is getting a lot of attention from other groups lately and it is quite close. But , the decision is yours.
the best tracks should be used, ie pig pen, and the marsh should be closed off to let it recover, dont see why going to black swan should hurt, it is mostly compacted sand tracks and single tracks at that. doesnt make sense to just close the whole lot off
Most of the tracks leading in to the Black Swan Camp site are well formed and on the ridge line only with a few problem holes to cross, and if the sty or forestry road was used it would reduce the dammage down there 10 fold, with just a bit of work in the holes....... The camp site at Black Swan is also much larger and environmentally less dammageable by campers I would not like to see this place ruled out as an option.

TRVA ( 4WD Tas.) will be placing their submission with Parks on Tuesday. We have worked long and hard on this issue,contrary to what one tosser has said on this thread, and since Parks do not seem all that confident of getting their Plan up, we hope we can have a considerable influence on them.

I went in on the opening weekend and the one gone, It was great the one just gone piece of piss through the pig stye we heared about 10 cars bogged on saturday on the marsh so we went out to help saturday nite but no one there

was a great couple of weekends hey gav
There were a lot of vehicles having a lot of trouble both weekends and this was mostly due to under prepared vehicles and lack of proper recovery gear. A couple of Pics of the vehicles that were well prepared and had little trouble.
