Are you talking about the EJ20 type of engines or other variants?

We have an MY97 WRX with around 170kw. Would be insane to have a similar engine in the zook. :?

you would need a stronger gearbox. And the zook diffs would snap like toothpicks :D

could you run the subaru box with no front shafts?

good excuse for lux diffs.

on the other hand if you didnt want 2 go off road then a WRX engine + running gear into a sierra or jimny or vitara would be one hell of a sleeper. lol

with a bit of a coil lift and maybe some body lift i reckon a WRX with some 225/75's would hammer offroad....

my brother in law took his WRX out to boat harbour a few times. Even the rangers like watching it do "on the spot" doughies  . Somethin did eventually break, & the doughnuts stopped.

True, but you can space down the subframes, which has the same effect.

Actually you can get body lifts for subaru's.
It puts a spacer between the top of the struts and the tower.
It also lowers the motor and box, and back diff i htink.
Try here > http://www.ausubaru.com/ausubaru/html/modules.php?name=Forums < for further info.
They are associated with the older 4wd subies and stuff.
I should know. Im registered there as well. but unfortunately i had to get rid of my suby. But i got the motor:).
