IFS rears- Is it possible to tow a boat without a track bar?
Hey, I've just bought a 17' boat, and was wandering whats the chances of being able to tow the thing with my IFS rear setup in lux, I'm running the standard IFS rears with 200mm extended shackles. If not were can you get ladder bars, anti wrap bars from??? Or does anyone have any plans to make one?? I don't want to swap my springs back to my Heavy duty pos ones. cheers

If its standard leaf pack with IFS rears it will depend on the shackle angle you have,A good idea is to ad coils between the leaf packs and chassis for towing

well the shackles sit on a 45 degree angle and if I take off fast there is sum slight movement of the diff, However in saying that, If I was to take of slowly and drive nicely could I get away with towing a boat with this suspension setup. It's a 17 fibreglass boat so wouldn't weigh anything too huge, What do other people think???
The bouncy prob will be from the shackle angle were it will want to squatBadLux wrote:yeh thats what i'm thinking, yeh still have the load springs in the leaf pack, maby just adding some load springs between the diff and leaf pack may sort the bouncy rear problem
