Folks,
I have been trying to convince my neigbour to sell me his Sierra for a while, as I think it would make an ideal first car for my 16yo nephew.
Finally, the gearbox has apparently let go and he will let me have the vehicle for a couple hundred bucks.
I do not know exactly what year it is, but is it the 1.3 manual soft-top.
Is it worth acquiring? What will a new gearbox(assuming it is shagged) set me back?
Any and all info/opinions appreciated.
Chris

Sierra Gearbox
Just rebuild the g/box it aint hard or buy it for your nephew and give him his fist of many experiences of fixing something....
Only abouty a hundred for all the bearings and then more if its done gears or synchro's...
It is really not hard to rebuild it.
Also when you take the gearbox out the rear mount has about an inch or so extra metal than it needs trim it back to near the hole and the g/box will slide in and out piss easy.
