I know that Pete Antunac's rig is regisered as heavy machinery with a max 40Km speed limit, I have being led to beleive that Matts is FULLY ROAD REGISTERED, but maybe it is some kind of agricultural rego to?grazza wrote:SOmeone please tell me, how can this car, Matt Pisani's, be road registered? it seems to me like the competition organisers bend the rules to allow good cars to compete. i believe there is a clause in the rules that states something to the effect that all mods must be engineered. without cars like this tuff truck would not be so "tuff" and the competition may cease to exist, certainly the way it is now. i am a fan of tuff truck. i am glad the rules are twisted a little.

personally I think that tuff truck shoul dbe allowing unregistered FULL BODY rigs. ie no tube buggys but the truggys are wha I would classify as the tuff truck kind of rig anyway85lux wrote:it seems to me like the competition organisers bend the rules to allow good cars to compete. i believe there is a clause in the rules that states something to the effect that all mods must be engineered. without cars like this tuff truck would not be so "tuff" and the competition may cease to exist, certainly the way it is now. i am a fan of tuff truck. i am glad the rules are twisted a little.

I have no problem with these sorts of trucks competing, I just think its strange that the rules say road registered, when they are so obviously far away from that. Why do they even state in the the rules? These things are trailered to events.
I would not want authorities to clamp down on these vehicles, just change the comp rules so they have no excuse to.

the rules say that road registered (does not say roadworthy)
as long as ur pos is registered then ur ok,i would hazard a guess that just about all the rigs at tufftruck were trailered in.
there are two types of ppl competeing the ones that read the rules for black and white and the ones that read them, then use them to thier advantage and get away with all the sneaky lil things, learn to play the rules to ur advantage to get ahead.

How about we just leave it before i lock this thread. This has allready been argued over and over. TTC set the rules. They are their Rules. If they want to bend them then its up to them. They Are the ones that set the rules.
There are thousands of cars driving down the road every day that are registered but should never be allowed on the road!
PS; BeeBee Trailered his Hilux down to TTC.

Jezz what's this big thing about driving there?
Yeah we trailered so what.....Swampers not road legal, beadlocks not road legal, no flares hmmm etc.....
Then there's the comfort thing - drive open topped rig to arrive at near freezeing conditions (arriving at 3am) or travel in a nice warm enclosed vehicle.....
Lastly after 3 days of flogging the rig not worrying if it's safe to drive it home......Seriously Trailering just makes common sense......

I thought having a registered comp vehicle had to do with the greenslips. I could be wrong though.
As for getting it registered in the condition its it, there are many ways it can be done, legit and not very
legit. There is getting it regoed as an owner constructed vehicle, getting 7 day competetion permit (in NSW this can be done if you get a blue slip every time) or the way bogged said, get a VIN numbered chassis, register it standard and modify it from there with your dodgy mates doing pinkies.
