Yeah we had that problem when we built our place but luckily mine hit the actual door, got builder to fit new door and track at there expence although it was a fight. Sorry this dosen't help but might highlight to people when building or buying a house so assume your truck will fit in your garage

I would not have thought it would cost all that much to mod the garage door way?
Assuming it's brick of course, You'll need two lengths of 75x8 angle and some mortar.
If it's steel........angle grinder :armsup:

the grano hardstand in your garage / carport will only be about 70mm thick and there will be no refinforcing in it. chop out a few courses but you cant cut away next to the wall or you will undermine the footings

well thats how we build in WA....

tahts probably the most practical solution apart from leaving car outside

Have same problem with my Pajero. heavy duty/lifted springs make it to tall. So mostly drives with standard springs. Also ment I couldnt go bigger tyres.
Only other option is to build new shed.

get the lintel and door raised a few inches, There is usually more than enough room to do it. It only takes a builder with some acro props and a hammer to knock out a few bricks and re seat the beam?

Probably cheaper than any suspension mods to the 80.

You could get rid of your body lift. Maybe give yourself a 3 inch suspension lift. This way you would lose and inch over all and just scrape the top of the roof instead of pulling the garage down. Just repaint the roof every now and then.

That is if you don't want to go through the hassel of changing your tyres all the time.

i agree with GQ!! haha reading all that it seems the 240v compressor + staun tyre deflators is the best idea!!

Make your wife swap the tyres everytime you want to park, or leave the house.

The exersize will keep her in shape, so you both benefit from the situation.

garages are just not made for landcruisers, our standard 80 series just fits by like 10mm it sucks no lift for us.... stupid garage :!:

Staun deflaters and a cheapish 240v compressor.

Once you have the compressor, you'll realise how useful they are so you'll get a better one. :)
