2003 IFS Hilux - Rear Suspension questions

Post by V6XtraHilux »

Hey Guys,
Have looked thru the Hilux bible and got a few questions with regards to my 03 IFS Hilux rear suspension, the goodlooking model before the AUV (WTF?)

V6 Model, 70,000kms, 33 BFG Muddies......

1. Ive read the standard leaf rear springs are 200mm camber. If the tray is loaded with about 100-150kgs, the springs should still have alot of camber...correct? Mine are almost flat, im suspecting they have lost their curvature? Any ideas?

2. What are the best aftermarket leafs around for 50-75mm lift, for good alround flex off road and little axlewrap?

3. Is the dual cab springs different to the Xtra cab leafs? Xtra cab has a longer wheelbase, so I imagine the springs have a longer front bush to locating pin distance?

4. Should I "add-a-leaf" or re-set the original toyo springs and maybe stick in a Snake racing extended shackle?

5. Wanna replace the stock skinny shocks with Tough dogs, or Ranchos, or mb OME? Whats the best setup with all ur guys experiences?

Thanks.
Karl
